In June of 2018, I decided to head back to the Marquette Michigan area in search of places I haven’t explored. Yellow Dog Falls was always on my list but never a stop. North of Marquette on 550, to 510 via the Thomas Rock Overlook to the start of the dirt road. From there, 4 miles south until you cross the river’s bridge. The drive is not long and well worth it if you like to drive through the deep woods. The sun was bright without a cloud in the sky and the trail to the falls is open and blessed with plenty of interesting vegetation. I brought plenty of effective bug repellent with me, but didn’t need it at all.
